Mark Opila | Chief Executive Officer
Mark Opila presides over the executive leadership team and focuses on the overall vision and corporate strategies. Mark brings more than 15 years of leadership experience and has held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Director of Sales and Marketing with Patrina. Prior to joining Patrina, he held leadership roles with NTT Verio where he was responsible for managing NTT’s East Coast’s Indirect and Direct Sales Channels. Prior to NTT Verio Mark served as an Associated Person holding a Series 3 License to sell Commodity Futures while pursuing a Computer Science Degree at Broward College. Mark’s blended knowledge of technology and finance makes him especially well-attuned to the technological challenges faced by the Financial Services Sector.
Jeff Ballance | Vice President of Software Development
The platform is a powerful and unique, proprietary platform specifically designed for Patrina Corporation by Jeff Ballance, VP of Software Development. Located in Portland, Oregon, Jeff is an expert software developer who began working with data in the early 70’s after graduating from Oregon State University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mathmatics. Jeff designed our platform to reflect our corporate vision Enterprise Records Management, ‘information management as a service’. Our platform design is rich in features to provide a solution that offers clients, flexibility, scalability and delivers sophisticated indexing for powerful search granularity with the potential for customized solutions. Jeff created an archiving system that is platform neutral and therefore compatible with virtually any data type. Jeff says, “Patrina has hundreds of different techniques to ingest data because everybody’s business is different and our flexibility allows us to meet unique needs.”
Jim Fareri | Director of Operations
Jim Fareri joined one-year-old Patrina in 1994 as a Supervisor of Data Operations, a role which has advanced as rapidly as Patrina's technology. From Patrina's original microfiche replacement service to today's digital and cloud technologies, Jim has played an integral role in building key relationships essential to the company's growth. His mission: To ensure every Patrina customer is a connected and valued member of Patrina's close-knit family and to build longstanding business connections between every client and the company's operations and customer support teams. In 2011, Jim was promoted to Director of Data Operations (for which he credits former supervisors Tony Aruta and Maria Tossini). He currently oversees Patrina's entire data operations team, all of whom share his commitment to client satisfaction. He and they take great pride in the compliant care and handling of Patrina client data. Prior to joining Patrina, Jim oversaw the operations of a major importer/exporter of recycled paper. An avid golfer, he attended St. Peters College on a full golf scholarship.
Bernhard Sebesta | Director of Information Technology
As Patrina's Director of Information Technology, Bernhard Sebesta spearheads the Patrina team delivering mission-critical regulatory compliance solutions to CEOs, CCOs, and others in financial services who oversee their companies' non-trading compliance exposures. For more than 20 years, Bernhard has developed real-world solutions to complex issues in systems architecture, software development, and project management. Prior to joining Patrina, he served as Director of Global IT and Technical Client Services for LDM Global in London, boosting LDM's IT capacity by a factor of eight while cutting costs more than 65 percent in his first eight months. Bernhard also expanded the firm’s services into the APAC region and played a pivotal role in developing custom tailored discovery solutions. He defined and implemented LDM's business IT strategy, and aligned its technology with changing business requirements. From 2007 through 2011, Bernhard was the Head of IT for FMTG AG (a 360-degree tourism company operating in central and southeast Europe). He managed all aspects of IT, including systems, infrastructure, applications, and security. Bernhard also led FMTG AG's project valuations, due diligences, deal parameters, and negotiation processes, resulting in streamlined EPOS, property management, management information system and ERP solutions. He also held various positions as an IT Manager and IT Operator for hospitality companies and public services in Austria.
